Circa Loco - Poetry: Open Doors

Open Doors

'Twas only when I no longer heard her voice
That I heard mine
Screaming her name
Kristine

And I wonder if she loves me still
As I have, and am and always will
And though I fear her fast fading echoes
I hold on to them like the air that I breathe
Whom without
my soul would choke
on the smoke of loneliness
and despair
I hold on to them like her voice that I remember
Her voice that was the warm embrace
From the coldness of this everyday winter

My thoughts fly,
As do my hopes, but not like before
Our silence seems to be closing
what were once
Open doors.
